even the smallest and most monochrome thing
with the vocabulary like an artist's brush?
who loves with the greatness of the sea's black trench?

who understands passion, its spine serpentine
that fills every crevice, that creates gaping depth,
that burrows and breathes, like the poet?
who loves with the strength of being possessed by the alive?

of all, who knows the suffering of love lost?

and could not hold love's weightless paper

Most people look at him and see a studious young man, dark glasses, diligent eyes; they see crisp uniforms and a practical haircut, shoes polished until they shine. They never see anything else.

They never see the sparkle in those eyes that grow when he speaks of seeing the world; they never understand when he points at a random spot on the map and says, "I want to go there." They never see. They don't want to.

It's not right, maybe, to them. He's a student with dreams that will remain dreams. Nothing more.

A Simple Man's WordsI don't have much of anything.

A basic house, job, and clothes.
I have enough to get by.
A simple life, just a regular guy.

Expressing my feelings makes me feel uncomfortable,
I'd rather keep to myself, for that's what I'm used to.
Although I can't go on about love the way poets and actors do,
There's something in my heart that's yearning for you.

I've changed since you smiled at me.

You made me happy for once in my life!
You brought colors into a life of black and white.
In a sea of darkness, I swam out with your light.

So, there's no reason for me to wait any longer,
Except that my knees are shaking like wet dog.
But I want to tell you

and saw the night sky swallow
the moon with its clouds

In Your EyesYou sit there on your thrones
feeding us some sugar coated words
to bend us to your will
and to follow your actions on a whim
as you throw caution to the wind
with your foolish ignorance
as you ignore the signs.

You demand us to walk the line and pay the price,
a pound of our flesh for your paradise.
You bend the truth until you can't find it,
you twist your lies until you don't mind them,
and yet still expect us to follow your example
and stay blinkered to the world?

But in your eyes
your reign is picture perfect
but to us who live blinkered
the world is slowly burning
or at least it is from what we've been told.

Fleeting GlancesWhat I would spare
For those scarce and sporadic smiles
Our sparse and fleeting glances
Our few visions into the unknown

I crave our sluggish efforts
The notion to look away
When wonder is sought
Back and forth, as we turn and grin

How the angst in me strives
For those squandered days
When the heart of me wrenched
And savored its suffrage
When I stewed in my agony
Hopeful and waiting

The anguish of mystery, is what i long to claim
If only once more, I may taste its bitter decadence

Bi-Polar BearThere's two weeds
One destroys, one gives
One lives, one suffers
One is at war with the other,
One doesn't want to explain
One's bi-polar, the other is fine
One takes, one prays
One signs when it's in pain,
The other wittles likes frost in fire
One takes away hurt thoughts
With an empty mirror's edge,
The other laughs and bends
In wind it can't control
One to carry, one to hold
One to stick, one to hold
There's two weeds
Sticking out of me
And I can't compare despair
I can only live it

Wow, I didn't even notice it was an acrostic on the first read, which I think is the sign of an amazing acrostic
